Nintendo, one of the world’s largest console and gaming giants, is known for its harsh policy on people who play and play pirated games. The famous company, which tries to protect its rights with almost hundreds of different lawsuits every year, is facing a different accusation this time. Unpacking producer accused Nintendo of not removing clone games from the store. Here are the details…
Nintendo responded to the call after 2 weeks!
According to a post by Wren Brier on Bluesky, fake games using the Unpacking name and brand value remained on sale on the Nintendo eShop for a long time. Misleading players, these pirated productions tried to attract attention by capitalising on the popularity of the original game. Wren Brier stated that although they reported this situation for more than two weeks, they did not receive any response from Nintendo.
However, after the reactions, Nintendo finally took action. According to the latest update, the fake Unpacking games have been removed from the North American, European, Japanese, and Australian eShops. However, the games are still available on the Korean, Hong Kong, South and Central American, and South African eShops.
Wren Brier thanked everyone who supported them in their fight against pirated games. On the other hand, it was a matter of curiosity whether the company would completely resolve this situation globally.
What do you think about this? Has the Japanese technology giant’s tough stance against pirated games been enough when it comes to fake productions in its own store? We are waiting for your opinions in the comments!
